Location of Cat converter???

Default Location of Cat converter???

I have a 1989 Crx Hf....where is the cat converter supposed to be and what does it look like??? A freind told me that it was just "Missing" but i found that odd since the car passed inspection last year.....Also is it required by law that a 89 need one to pass inspection? i live in maine.....

the cat bolts up to the exhaust manifold under the car...sometimes test pipes or high flow cat converters take the place almost looking similar to each other but not like the OE cat...type in honda cat converter in google images and it will pull up all the pics you'll need

You mean its right after the exhaust manifold in front of the engine under the heat sheild?

Yes. ALL HF's have the cat bolted directly to the exhaust manifold.

if i remember correctly i believe the hf's have manifold mounted cats. only difference between the pic is that the ef model cats un bolt from the manifold.
