Opinions needed
Hello everyone, I know this is my first post (didn't see and into section?)
Anywho I am sort of in a tight spot on what I should do with my 90 Civic Si.
I want to make it into an autocross beast with the potential to go fast 1/4 mile too. Here's my problem.
I have a JDM H22a in my garage with ~15k on it, with tranny, with complete harness, cut shift linkage with neuspeed short shifter, and no axles. It does have everything else though.
One of my friends said he would trade me his whole LS/Vtec setup which is B18B1 block with a USDM b18c head with USDM b16 pistons, axles, AEM rail, mugen valve cover (basically his whole drop in setup) This setup currently is running in his car and he wants to trade the whole setup for my H22a how it sits. Should I do it? Pros and Cons from some of the masters on here?
I have a couple of days to figure out what I am gonna do. Any opinions would be nice. Thanks

your h22 would be better for the strip but if you want to autocross the LSvtec would be better. its lighter than an H22 and for autocross weight counts for alot. also with the h22 you might have too much torque coming out of turns. the LS vtec will still burn some rubber on the strip. asuming the engine in good shape and what you what to do with your car i'd do it.
Well, I am unsure of how good of shape the LS vtec is internally, I know that it runs good when its warmed up and hits vtec right etc. The H22a only weighs about 40 lbs more though.
that 40 lbs are in the very front of the car tho..... I was looking into an H22 for my crx, so i talked to my freind who had an H22T in his 2dr Civic, now he broke into the 10s at the strip, but his big complaint was its cornering.
Ah ok I see. I will probably stick with the LS/Vtec then. I am probably going to be putting new stuff in it once Ive had it for awhile. Make it an SCCA car and then have a different tune for the strip with a 50 or 60 shot
