warranty on brakes?
quick questions guys. sounds pretty stupid because i know brakes are wear and tear items or whatever but do you think the dealer would warranty my rear brake rotor if it's warped and i only have nearing 15k? all other rotors are fine except for my rear passenger side rotor; when i brake after the brakes are warm up it would pulsate kind of bad.
the pulsation might just be the ABS kicking in...
idk about this one... i'd just take it in and let them know that it's only that ONE rotor that's affected... warping does happen sometimes and it might be a charity fix...

i believe brake are 12 months 12k miles warranty. depending on what kind of customer you are they might hook you up and take care of it as a one time goodwill only. i have seen it done at my dealer we have warrantied brakes and other wear and tear items that shouldnt be.
what makes you think its only the one rotor that is warped??

Im guessing its ABS because all new drivers come and ask this question and I was one of these people asking. When I was a noob
my car had a similar problem. The passenger side rear rotor had a groove in it like the pad was not touching a 13mm. section all the way around the rotor. the brake pedal would pulse after about 5 stops. They told me they couldn't do anything for warrenty and that was at 16k miles. i fixed it with new pads ($60 from honda) and re-surfaced the rotors. NO PROBLEMS SINCE.

the brake pads aren't that expensive and have someone who works at a dealer or shop turn the rotors for you. I did mine and all i spent was about $80 for everything, thats with factory pads.
. Damn u caught a deal $80 with labor?? I want to ask u though at how many miles did u do change of brakes???
Have you actually put a level to the rotor to see that it has warped? The fact that a rear rotor could possibly get hot enough to warp is pretty surprising. Contrary to popular belief, rotors generally do not warp. There was a big article from a guy at AEM (i think) talking about this myth. You sure its not pitted or something?
I had to do the rear brakes around 15k-20k. and if you read my post again I did the labor myself but total for pads and to have somebody else resurface the rotors was $80.
The rear brakes are easy to do it took me about 15min per side not counting the 1.0hrs. that the guy was resurfacing the rotors.
as far as using a level to check for warppage that is the stupidest thing I have ever heard.
You need to use a disc brake micrometer. This is the recommended way to check the rotors by all brake manufacturers and dealers.

But yes the Honda brake, tire vibration etc warranty is 12/12
ha whereabout is raleigh are you? Im in philly at school but my folks are still there.
I dunno...it just seems odd to me that a rear rotor could get hot enough to warp. Even in constant stop and go traffic, the rears really dont do that much. Id say if its not covered, pull it off and see if getting it turned it will do anything for the problem

How is the wear on that rear passenger tire? Does it show diagonal cross wear?
Do you hear loud noise coming from that rear side, when you drive. Honda has a Tech Bulletin out for those problems.
I do not know if that could be tied to your problem, but it is unusual that you are having rotor trouble on the same side of the car as the bulletin mentions.

I had the rear arms replaced but that had nothing to do with my rear rotor/brake concern. I have seen about 75 civics when i worked at honda come in with uneven wear on the rear rotor. We always just cut the rotors and replaced the pads. No come backs for that concern. My personal car has not had that problem since I replaced the brakes and that was 30k miles ago.
