Transmission hell!!!
i have a 1990 honda civic dx 4 door... my tranny is extremely shitty.. bearings bad syncros worn.. everything you can imagine... so i go to the junkyard and look for a new tranny... alll the 4 dr civics either looked like they been raced or the car had alot of miles.. however i found a 1990 civic hatch with 94k on it so i took the tranny.. i cleaned it up replaced the seals and spun the shaft to make sure it wasnt making any unusual noise.. so when i was puttin the tranny in the splines just wouldnt align for some reason i was there for an hour trying to figure out how to get the tranny on... i pulled it down and counted the splines on the shaft for the stock tranny (20) then counted for the new tranny (21) now aint that some bs!!
The way you wrote it seemed a little sonfisuing.
I believe SI, EX, LX, DX are all the same, but the HF and STD are different.
Not sure what it matters though since he's changing out the transmission and not the hubs.
Stock axles shoudl work just fine.

that is incorrect. the 89-91 clutch is ALREADY the problem.. he has an 88 trans, denoted by the fact that there are 21 splines on his new junkyard trans.
an 88 accord clutch disk has 21 splines, like what you need, and a 212mm clutch face to fit your 212mm '90 civic flywheel and 212mm '90 civic pressure plate. buy one and your problem will be solved. ACT even makes an "upgrade conversion" kit for that exact application, 88 trans to 90-91 flywheel/pressure plate.
this information is irrelevent. they are only different beteween 2 sets of cars. the first set is the si and dx cars, and the second set is the HF and std set. Either way, your statement is irrelevent for the op's problem, because he can use his existing axles that match his existing hubs, because the transmission side of ALL of the axles in the ef d-series are the same for USDM model cars.

i would like to do that but i got a brand new exedy stage 1 clutch in that i didnt even have for 2 months and i have a f1 8lb flywheel.....so what trannny will i have to switch that for for it to work
That depends on how many splines the clutch you want to use has.
if you have both the transmissions off the car, you can test fit the clutch disk to the transmission by sliding it on the input shaft of the transmission. The transmission the clutch fits on is the one that should go into your car, unless you want to buy a new clutch.
