Default Crank Bolt Removal Help

I have tried to search but the search function seems to be down at this time. I need to remove the crank bolt from the ls in my car and i dont know the best way, if i use a breaker bar the engine's internals just turn. How do i keep them still so i can get this bolt off?

put it in gear and or get someone to step on the brakes, another option is some people put a big driver on a tooth of the flywheel, but two people will make it easier, air tools as well if you have access.

with a shop rag, the floor as leverage, and one of these... (chain wrench)

and of course a 3/4" drive ratchet, appropriate socket, and a pipe or something to use as leverage

use some air tools, thats what i use and it much easier. or u can get the crank pulley tool that holds the pulley in place while u loosen the nut.

This will really stop the movment of the crank? I never even thought of doing this. How will putting the brakes on help?

I recommend you buy one of these
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002Q8TTG

I tried the 5 gear and brakes thing but there was still too much movement. I bought one of these, a 24" extension and a 3 foot pipe on the end of the ratchet and it came of surprisingly easy.
