Default Crank Pulley Bolt

Alright, Im preety frustrated with my car, and the point is, I cant get the damn bolt off. Ive got a crank pulley tool on there...the pulley isnt going anywhere..I just cant get the bolt off. With me stepping on a breakerbar, and my pops pulling on it as well, it wont budge. We even tried using the impact, no luck either.

Does anyone know of a "trick of the trade" to get this damn thing off?

Oh ya forgot to add...Its a 1991 Integra...and this thing has NEVER been off in 113,988 miles. So ya, I kinda figured that it would be a PITA, but not this much of one. lol.

you can do it 2 ways

1. and the best way is to use a impact gun. you have to use a good 1/2 gun with a good compressor behind it with good 3/8" air hose
2. jam the flywheel with a screwdriver, use a breaker bar and some pipe on the end and use a ton of strengh. (not really recommended but it works)

Well, weve tried both ways, non of them are working.

We have a decent impact wrench, that joker isnt doing crap.

Our snap-on breaker bar is about to explode into shrapnel as well. It just bends

Easiest way, take it to a shop and have them use their most powerful impact on it, then retighten it to 134 lb/ft. When you get home, you will be able to remove it.

That's what I did, and since all you have to do is steer the car to the right and the impact fits in, they didn't charge me anything.

what are you using for a impact gun? when i had this problem with my crx, i was using my snap-on 3/8 gun and a craftsman 1/2 gun and neither one worked, I had to get my good snap-on 1/2 gun. worked like a champ. and like I said you have to have some good hose, and a good compressor behind it.

if your using a breaker bar, take a piece of pipe, a long piece of pipe and put it all the way down the breaker bar and you going to have to use a lot of strength. when my friends integra broke the belt we had to jam a large flat blade in the flywheel, turn the crank till it stops and it took both of us to break the bolt loose using the breaker bar and pipe method, and he is a body builder, he had a lot more arm strength than I do, but it work, and like i said ealier you can do it, but i dont recommend it. best of luck.

you can do the idea of taking it to a mechanic and haveing them use a good impact to break it loose, then tighten it back up enought to get you home

ya, it was a 1/2in' drive impact.

well..my dad and I jerry-rigged a cheater bar...long enough so we could both stand on it. We both jumped and wa-la! Bolt broke loose. yay. I finished the timing belt, alternator belt, water pump, and tensioner in about 1.5 hours. It took us 2 hours to break the bolt loose, including pizza time for about 30 mins
