Normal for turbo to blow a little oil?
Just finished installing a brand new turbo this weekend and noticed today after about 200 miles of driving, there's a little bit of oil collected around the compressor outlet say maybe a few drops worth -- enough to coat your fingers w/ oil. I'm running a -3AN line from the oil pressure sensor and a -10AN line for the return. Is this normal for boosted hondas?
That is common to see if you rev your turbo super high. It usually means your putting to much pressure against the seal. ive seen it with turbonetics, XS and garret.
It's a new Garret t3/t4. I thought -3AN was the right size for boosted hondas? How can I reduce the pressure? Or if I'm reving the turbo super high, what are some possible causes?
Thats just what happens....your -3 line is fine. Just make sure your return line is high enough up on the pan because maybe its backing up in the return line. It does that to my race car turbo as well. Its not a real big deal...but its of some concern since you just installed it. It usually takes more then a couple of days to get that way.
