hood will not open!!! help plz...searched and searched
i cant get my hood open..does anyone got a diagram on how the hood latch wire is runned? i tryed pulling it with a plyer and it did not work..we lifted the car up to see if we can find the wire that goes to the hood latch but cant find it ether.. if anyone has idea or a diagram it would be nice..thx
Jack the front of your car up again and get up in there with a 10mm wrench and take the whole latch assembly off.
go to the driver side wheel well where the cable comes out and just yank on that b**ch or when your in the car and pull the hood release have some one else quickly push the hood down and let off thats how we had to do my friends old accord

ok then something must be wrong with mine cause it goes from the latch into the drivers side wheel well back into the car through the fire wall to the handle

You might be misunderstanding. It only goes about three or four inches over onto the passenger side, then it loops around. It only does this because the latch has the cable coming in on the passenger side of the latch.
your best bet would most likely be just take the grill out get an 10mm wrench take it off and just buy a new one u can get on of ebay or autozone for like 20 bucks. If its the actually cable it way need to be tightend sorta the same as like a parking brake cable

If the cable is taut when you pull on it with the pliers, then make sure the groove in the sheathing on the cable hood release handle end is fixed in the hood release handle bracket. It may take a lot of force, including rigging up a jack to really pull. If you get the hood open this way, thoroughly clean (PB Blaster or similar) and lube (lithium grease or possibly silicone spray lube) the hood release latch at the front. If you continue to have to apply exorbitant force to open the hood, replace the cable. It is likely stretched or kinked. A junkyard cable that has been checked for operation is fine
This is a very common problem.

The hood cables are new from Honda for about $25.
