EK Latch hood
I was thinking of doing a hood latch cable release relocation mod on a friend ek and it seems like the cable doesn't detach from the interior handle making it hard to pull through the firewall. So going at it from the other end, does the cable detach from the hood latch easily?

To remove the hood cable:
Remove your front bumper.
Pull away the driver's side fender liner.
Remove the lower kick panel next to the hood cable handle inside the car.
Loosen the bolts or unbolt the latch from the core support on the front of the car. '98+ vehicles will have a black plastic cover on the front of the latch. You might need to remove this. I can't recall if you need to.
Unhook the cable from the latch assembly.
You can put the latch back on now if you'd like. You just wanted to remove the cable from the latch.
Pinch the clips that hold the cable to the core support. Remove the cable (leave the clips on the cable) from the core support.
Unbolt the cable bracket from the driver's footwell in the car.
Pull the cable through the car, section by section.
The cable leads from the latch on the front of the car, to the passenger side, loops back to the driver's side, leads behind the driver's headlight, through the top of the driver's front fender, through the firewall and into the driver's footwell, where there is a bracket holding the cable handle in place.
It's not difficult at all, just a pain in the ***.

Re: EK Latch hood
I've done it once before and will need to do it again soon. I've got to buy a new latch first though. Current one is too tight. It breaks cables easy.
