Starting Problem NEED immediate HELP
Alright, its real easy.. before doing all this, i suggest you go buy an ammeter, and see if your battery is providing enough amperage.. but i digress.
1. leave the bolted on wire (Positive) attached to the starter, unless you suspect it bad. If you suspect it is bad, then you should have already replaced it. next, you need to remove the existing stock solenoid wire.
2 you need to make a jumper wire to jump the solenoid circuit. to do that, you get one of those flat slide clips that fits the solenoid "pin" on the starter solenoid. attach that flat slide clip to the solenoid wire, but NOT YET TO THE BATTERY.
3. With a buddy in the car, tell him/her to turn the switch to the start position while you simultaneosly touch the other end of your jumper wire made in step 2 to the positive terminal of the battery.
if it sounds like it is trying to start, the person in the car needs to let the ignition switch go into the on/running position quickly. In this case, you may want to have someone who understands what your doing to do the key turning.. cause all kinds of problems may result. you can also unplug the small plug on the distributor and the car wont start and run, which is probably a good safe precaution to take.
If your car doesnt start, there is either a MAJOR short (i.e. positive wire cut in half, severe corrosion under the wire casing, etc) in the positive wire going to the starter from the battery, OR your battery does not have enough amperage to drive the starter motor, which is a test you should do with an ammeter before trying to jump the starter in the method i describe.
