Map sensor question
I've been searching for idle problems with my GSR swap in my 1992 Civic. I've checked everything so earlier today I unbolted the map sensor off the throttle body and put my finger over the hole and there was barely any vacuum.
So I looked over the throttle body a little bit and the nipple where the vacuum line goes had been broken off and someone pounded it back into the hole. So I hooked the map sensor to a vacuum line and it seemed to run a little smoother but still sputtered a bit and idled high. (Around 1900rpm)
My question is does a throttle body mounted map sensor have to be mounted to the throttle body to work properly or would it work the same as if it was hooked to a vac line straight off of the intake?
Thanks,
Chris

if you look around your local yard some 92 dx's came with a firewall mounted map but the plug is a little different so make sure you get the harness as well.
also you must seal ANY and ALL vacuum leaks before your car will idle right. might be easier to find a used throttle body than trying all this extra stuff.
