when are extended wheel studs required?
i think its becase of the offset of the wheel not allowing the reg lugnuts to get threaded enough
like bogarts, you usually wont get enough threads on the lugnuts to be safe becuase the offsets are diff. .

the offset is the distance between the hub mounted surface, and the centerline of the wheel, so it has nothing to do with longer studs..but I know what you are trying to say.
The thickness of the mounting point of the wheel can sometimes change when putting on slicks or other wheels, and as per NHRA rules,
"All wheel studs must project into the hex portion of the lug nut by a distance equal to one diameter of the stud" (Section 5:2)

Staying on the subject..kinda
Im going to be running 15x22x8 MTs slicks on some light weight Einki Rp01s in a couple of days. Do these require longer wheel studs to pass tech?. To those familiar with the NHRA rules, are longer wheel studs required when any type of racing slick is used?
Another Question, Are the ARP wheel studs application that you guys mentioned for the Civic/Ingera also fit on a 4Gen Accord or a Prelude?
Thanks in advance
Those longer wheel studs look pretty mean on the street. Kinda gives ya the .."You better not @#$% with me" look
