Temp gauge still doesn't work
2000 CIVIC SI B16A2
My problem is that my temp gauge is stuck in the same position all the time. It doesnt matter if the car is on or off. I replaced my thermo sending unit(#10). which i though sent the signal to my gauges. what other sensor can i look at that can fix my problem? my car runs rich and i think its due to my engine reading cold all the time.

IIRC, your car uses one sensor for the gauge and one for the ECU. Get a scantool that can show datastream and see what it thinks your coolant temp is. While you are at it, check intake air temp, map sensor, and make sure the O2 sensor is cycling like it should.
On the sensor, when you unplug it, it should peg the needle. when you ground it, it should drop to cold. IF you have your coolant temp wire shorting to ground somewhere, it would also cause it to read cold. Unplug each sender and see if one of them makes your gauge peg. If one of them does, change out that sending unit.

ok heres the thing. i gutted my cat cause it clogged up. my 02 sensors are shot. i just ordered a obd2b to obd1 conversion harness and a p30 ecu. that will eliminate my secondary 02 and give me better tunning options. i bought the primary 02 but haven't installed it cause i need to know what caused my cat to go bad thus frying the oxygen sensors to begin with. i think they went bad due to my ecu thinking my engine is cold. therefor feeding it more fuel. on the PIC above i think sensor #12 is what sends the signal to my ecu. could that cause my temp gauge not to work? what kind of scantool are you talking about? ima noob that aint scared to work on my car but i just dont know much lol. sorry for all the questions. i just took my car to autozone and got these codes:
p0131 heated oxygen sensor bank 1
p0135 same as above basically
p0420 catalyst effiency low bank 1(due to my 02's being bad)
COULD THESE BE RELATED
p1259 VTEC system malfuction (ill check to see if the filter is clogged)
p0122 TP sensor ( i have no clue where that is, searching)

To answer what I can.... Figure 12 is what sends the signal to your ECU, the TP sensor code is for your TPS on your throttle body. If the wiring is good then it needs calibrating or changing.
