Need a drag radial that lasts longer than BFGs
My BFG 225/50/15s only lasted 4,000 miles. That's with proper alignment, proper inflation, and I never did a single (intentional) burnout.
I really can't afford to buy another set if it's only going to last a few months. So what's the next step down? I'm willing to sacrifice traction for something that lasts longer. Do Azenis RTs last longer?

How much power are you making? Do you daily drive the car? When my car was 400whp I ran the BFG 205/50/15s for about 5k miles. I wouldn't get any traction until the top of 3rd gear. Last year switched to MT 205/50/15s and it was a night and day difference. The car was hooking 2nd gear. Right now I have about 2k miles on the MT's and they still look new.
You have to remember that drag radials are not going to last forever. Most of them do not even have a treadwear rating. I would say that 4 to 5k miles is what you will probably get out of them. If you want traction, stick with drag radials, if you don't then buy something cheaper like all-seaons.

i ran the nitto 555r drag radials for 2 years and one was daily driving on them and the still have tons of tread but they dont hook very well at the track compared to bfgs..
I would LIKE to try the Nittos, but apparently they don't make them for 15" rims. And as far as the MTs - are you referring to the ET streets? I figured those would get eaten up the quickest of all, seeing as they're basically cheater slicks. I'll have to check them out more.
I hate my BFGs 225 50 15 .I only got 1500miles out of them ,I plan on going back to a street tire and i was thinking of the Azenis r615,Sence i see no need to even run a DRs on the street sence (damn things dont even help)

15,000? unreal. I get about 3000 out of the fronts and 10000 out of the rears. Thats with about 330whp. 3rd hooks 100% and 2nd about 80% and I rev out 1-2-3 every day...plus lots of hard cornering.
Torn between Toyo RA-1 and the BFG drags after these conclusions:
M/T ET Streets: no sidewall, don't last long enough
Nitto NT555R: aren't made for 15" rims
Falken Azenis RT-615: sidewall is too stiff (won't go with my General Exclaim UHPs in the rear)
Toyo R888: too expensive and have a stiffer sidewall than the RA-1
Toyo RA-1: roughly same price as the BFG drags, more sidewall than the drags, more tread depth
Looking into the RA-1s more. Any other R-comp tires I should look into?

I'm on my last set of bfg drag radials. I'm really tired of buying tires 3 times/ year for only moderately better traction than even my all weather tires.
So I went with Azenis RT-615s and they just really blow the BFGs out of the water. The Falkens are a smaller tire (205/50 vs. 225/50) but they have BETTER traction. I spun the BFGs all day long in 2nd and I honestly can't even spin 2nd with the Falkens. I just got them installed 2 hours ago and I've been tearing up the city. The tires are just amazing.
BFGs:
-Insanely loud on the freeway
-Insanely sloppy/unresponsive/dangerous handling
-Rubbed the **** out of my framerail
-Adequate traction
-$300/shipped for a pair from Tirerack
Falkens:
-Whisper quiet
-Amazing handling (no more accidentally veering into neighboring lanes on the freeway...)
-Perfect fit w/ no rubbing issues
-Slightly better traction than the aged BFGs, although brand-new BFGs might have the slight advantage.
-$180/shipped for a pair from Vulcan tire
Falkens FTW. I'll never buy the BFGs again.
