bog hard at 4k HELP!!!
i got an lsvtec in my ef and i just got new plugs and got it running on all cylinders. it seemed a little rough at idle till i got my new bkr7e's. it is a little sluggish then at like 3k-4k the engine continues to accelerate smooth with my foot but the car stops accelerating. i already got new pump and filter. etc. it also runs rich as hell with a stock p28.
update: wow i got the timing right and now my car wont start at all. i also put on a new intake manifold. wtf!!

Any codes?
When did this start happening?
Any odd vibrations or sounds?
How do you know it's running too rich? Bad mpg, black exhaust, etc?
Need a little more info. My thought would be check fuel pressure, timing, and your codes.

its happened since i got it on all cylinders
the motor is a little shakey sometimes at idle and it has a loose valve sound and tapping
spark plugs were black and smell
Are all the plugs looking the same? Did you recently swap the motor, then have the trouble with it not hitting on all cylinders?
So what all is new, I see the plugs, wires, fuel pump, and fuel filter, anything else you've done?
I would recommend, resetting your ecu, then testing fuel pressure, and spark timing.
Good luck, let us know what you find.

Best way to reset your ecu is to pull the Hazard fuse in the under hood fuse box. It's either a 15A or a 20A fuse. Leave it out for about 30 seconds then plug her in and your ecu is reset. Start her up and check that you don't have any codes.
To check your timing you'll need a timing light. Pretty strait forward, hook up the timing light on the battery pos and neg terminals and the inductive lead on the number 1 spark plug wire and look at your crank pulley. You should see the three timing marks on the pulley line up with the tabs on your timing belt cover. You want it to line up with the middle mark on the crank pulley, but if it's on the first or third you're only 2 degrees off. To adjust your timing you simply unbolt your dizzy just enough so you can turn it. With the car on and the timing light in had have a friend (or if you've got long arms, I don't
so I need help) turn the dizzy until you line up the timing marks with the tabs. Only do this if it's off of course.
To check fuel pressure you'll need a fuel pressure tester. If you don't have access to one maybe you have a friend or relative or if you know a shop you go to have them test it for you. No way to do it with out the right tools.
That's where I would start.

The mark that is all by it's self is the TDC mark. That means your spark plugs are firing at TDC and that's WAY too late! You want to be about 18 degrees BEFORE TDC. Time it right and see what happens. You may be a tooth off on the timing belt if you can't get it to time right. Do you have an adjustable cam gear?
Fix your timing first, you'll be going around in circles if you don't have a properly timed car.

I think you're gunna try to time your car and put it on the middle timing mark of the three marks on your pulley. Drunkeness will do that to a man. lol
