Default b18c1 built motor for boost question

I have a stock gsr in my civic right now thats boosted on 9psi. Was planning on running it but i have seen a couple of locals with their "fast" cars and i would like to play with them if ya get where im going. This is my first work with internals of a motor so i just wanna make sure i understand it before i do it.

My question is....

Building the block, I would like to do je pistons, eagle rods. I would also need new pins and bearings correct? Is a head gasket necessary with arp head studs and a block guard? Just trying to keep it simple but have a reliable go getter. I am searching more about it everyday but i run into a lot of all motor threads but i assume its practically the same. Would appreciate any help, info, advise. Probably leaving head stock at first. I wanna do everything at once and do it right. No numbers goal or anything, just for my personal enjoyment.

EDIT: move if necessary, posted here because its for forced induction but could also be all motor. Thanks!

with the pistons comes the pins. to do all that you will need a headgasket anyway. do arp's with it apart, no need for a block guard. have someone competent tune it. if you are goin that far, have the crank checked and if it is ok, new bearings wont hurt.
