b18b in 95 civic
alright well ive decided to sell all my audio and buy an engine. so i am going next monday to buy a b18b. the car is a 95 civic ex. from what ive seartched and read i dont need mounts except for the a/c bracket, but i dont need ti because i dont need a/c. the other thing i know is i need a 94-95 ecu. is there anything else i need? will everything else like teh axles, and wiring be fine?
You're going to need more than that, I do think the mounts all fit, and almost all of your stock engine mount hardware can be re-used...you'll need integra shift linkage, axcels, and a re-programmed p28 ecu (92-95 ex/si ecu). I you do need the ac bracket, even though you dont have the compressor bolted up this bracket supports you engine ac or not. You'll need the wiring harness for the motor you get too (gsr wiring harness) and you'll need to wire up a few of the sensors when your done (vtec, vtec press., knock...off the top of my head...do a search I may have forgot 1 or 2, peace)
In your case since you will not be using AC everything will bolt up. Just use the integra mounts that come with the engine. You will need the following out of the integra to make the swap as easy as possible. You will of course need the engine, transmission, distributor, starter, alternator, etc. You will also need the integra shifter and shifter linkage. As far as axles you will need both the left and right axles off the integra as well as the integra intermediate shaft. You will need the 94-95 ECU out of the teg also. You can use a later ECU but you will have to run an ecu adapter harness $$. If you can get the integra fuel pump as well. You will also need the integra wiring harness unless you want to make yours work on the new engine. Also get the downpipe and catalytic converter from the integra. That should be it pretty much. This is as straightforward swap as they come. Any more q's hit me up. I had an LS in my 92 hatch with a JRSC @ 6psi before I went to a B16B swap... see my signature for pics of the r swap.... Good luck....Since you are running a NON-VTEC swap there will be NO wires to run also....

sweet. thanks guy. 4thapack, i have a short shifter on my car already, is there any way to still use it? if not i guess i can jsut get a gsr shifter though.
As the gentleman stated you can still use the short shifter. The only difference between the stock civic and integra shifter and shift linkage is the length I think. I may be wrong on that one cause it has been a long time since I have compared them side to side. If you need any more help let me know BTW we are only about 1.5 hrs apart. I live in Marion, NC. Good luck.....
