Default 91 HF Bad Partial Throttle Response - Test TPS without removal?

The car idles smoothly, and revs correctly in neutral/not in gear. (all HFs are 5spd)

Car rides smoothly, and correctly, at speeds 0 through +60mph (have not gone faster than this on local roads, speed limit is 50mph).

Car rides fine when accelerating, or coasting, in gear.

However, at partial throttle, I typically get a good shaking. Both front tie-rod ends needed to be replaced, and I did. No alignment yet, I counted threads when replacing the tie rod ends. New tires. New o2 sensor (needed it)

Car has 109k on it. All original.

I read the TPS could be the problem, but it revs cleanly, no problems, could it still be the TPS? I do not have a voltmeter to measure with. I do have a replacement TPS to install (though I am still waiting for the gasket).

I also have a 90HF with 139k on it if I need to swap/test parts.

Input welcome!

I am having the same exact problem with my DX. As far as the TPS goes I wouldn't think that would be it, but it could be. My DX is a 90 with only 52k on it, all original with a gay auto tranny (for $600!). But I am with phoenix, input welcome!

Go buy a voltmeter dude you can find them fairly cheap and it's a tool no modern mechanic should be without.

I fixed my TPS in no time with a multimeter

The TPS required adjustment?

I thought just slice a slot into the head of each and turn like a screw to remove, then replace it with bolts. Adjustment, on the otherhand, how is it done, and what are the specs? =(

Just swap out the whole throttle body? It's attached there, correct? I have a 'spare' TPS (new from Ebay), but then I read they have to be calibrated and whatnot... =(

Neat! It does feel like a fuel delivery problem (but only at partial throttle)... hmm... I wonder about sending the injectors out, or running some super fuel injector clear through it (sea foam in the gas tank?)

Thanks for the idea!
