so i was driving home and my car just shut off.. it will crank like it wants to start. and i am pretty sure i have enoguh gas ( going to fill up now ) but this happened in my old car as well.. car died in the middle of a rain storm and i thought i hyrdolocked my car but it was the igntion coil.

now my question is, i have a 94 jdm b16 and i was wondering what motor or car would i buy the igniriton coil for? the 99 si?

also, does this sound relevant to my problem? thanks guys n girlss.

 

its the ignition coil
my car did the EXACT same thing.
i had it towed then the next day i checked everything.
timing, fuel filter, fuel pump etc.
then i was stumped. i thought "hmmm the igintion coil send sparks and its not starting. i think ill check it" and sure enough it was that.
i changed it and vuala! it worked GREAT!

 

Any OBD1 or OBD2 D or B-series coil will work. I've personally used D15B7 coils in B16A distrbutors before.

i'm sure almost any b-series ignition coil should work OP, i would look for a b-series vtec dizzy though. I swapped in a obd1 eg/ej (single cam) ignition coil into my obd2b ej and it runs fine.
