my boss always told me, if its in the way unbolt it.
basically you need to get the air box out, starter out, undo the slave cylinder but dont take off the hydraulic line, get under it, wheels off, axles loose, separate the lower ball joint, axles out.
shifter linkage, drain it, bell housing bolts, drop the trans.
somewhere in the begining undo vss, and reverse switch.
remove the clutch, 6 12mm bolts, and if you are surfacing the flywheel, you will need a 17mm 12 point socket.
install in reverse order.
it can be done but if it is your first and not mecanically inclined, enlist a friend that is.

i am very mechanically inclined but my thing is i have no place to do it and there is snow on the ground and i dont have money to pay someone to do it. and how do you hold up the motor to drop the transaxle

get the car on jack stands, and use the jack to hold the engine up.
is the loot you are going to save, worth the time aggro, and being cold as *****? to have it done in a shop? it may cost a little, but in the long run, your down time and possibility if getting sick, hell i wouldnt do it.

well i dont have a job so actually getting it done in a shop might be alittle hard to do, i can still drive the car the clutch is not completely out so i guess i could wait til i find a job

A mechanically inclined individual could do this job in 2-3 hours, depending on how many little problems you run into. It's really quite simple and boostedcivic explained it perfectly.
Since there's snow outside, could you perhaps find a buddy or someone who has a garage you could borrow for a day? Or even a car porch..just some type of structure to block the wind and you'd be golden.

The only thing I'll warn you about is that you need to remove both axles. I've seen guys try to cheat and only take out the passengers side, you can get the tranny off, but it just wont seem to line up properly to go back on. I literally spent 2 or 3 hours trying, removed axle, no problem.
