i have an 88 crx and the gauge cluster dosnt light up. i bought new bulbs and it still didnt work. i replaced the fuses and it still didnt work. the gauges all work fine, they just dont light up and yeah i messed with the dimmer switch and it still didnt work.

oh and i recently went to a junkyard and got a dimmer switch from and ef sedan and poped that in but after being in for about 10 seconds, white smoke came from it and it smelled like it was burning so i pulled it out all quick and thats it.

any one know whats going on?
