Sorry I am sure this is somewhere but I need to know quickly. I got a Cheap cold air intake for my 96 civic LX. If I wanted to use it as a Short ram instead of Cold air could I just use the first piece of the intake system and put the filter there or will it not fit properly?

Also is there a difference between a 96 civic EX and LX intake setup? Are they interchangeable?

A simple answer to my question was all I was looking for

 

no difference. if you have it just check if it would fit.
The stock air box has more air flow than a cold air or ram air.
If you like the look better and sound then go for it.
They dynoed stock air box and a cold air intake in Honda tuning i beleve.

 

ex = y8 dx = y7 its not the same..

cold air as a short ram? its just a pipe
