Questions about installing locking hood pins...
I've been wanting to install hood pins so I found these locking hood pins http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/Pro...ryCode=3327I.I think it would be good to install these for security and to prevent my hood from opening while driving but I have a few questions.
1.Are these difficult to install?
2.Does rain rust them over time and prevent them from opening?
If anyone who has tried these can give me some feedback that would be much appreciated.

Those are NOT hood pins. Hood locks arent designed for safety - printed right on the box. Theyre little more than cosmetic and minor theft prevention (since nearly any round key fits them).
You install them the same as real pins, use your head and you can figure it out. If you cant, I suggest you take it to a shop.
Install the pins, mark the hood, cut some holes (not just drill...) and install the plates. Thats about all there is to it.
Does stainless steel rust????

I may be wrong but I don't believe just any round key will fit them....after all this is the same kind of lock used on vending machines on the change door right?
And it says its stainless steel but who knows if the inside is all stainless steel?I don't want to put them on and find out the hard way the lock rusts.

with that logic my honda key will open all hondas since being similar and afew acuras also.
I had some on my old civic and didnt have any problems with rusting of internals. My car was out in the weather all the time and it was fine. I did put some WD40 in the cylinders from time to time just to keep them fresh. Install wasnt hard if you know what you are doing. Overall not bad but if someone wants your stuff they are going to get it.

I didnt have any problems with mine, but dont use them on a C?F hood since you will end up cracking the hood from stress.
heres an ek walkthrough I made back when i still had them.
