another redline problem

Default another redline problem

car:
94 dx
ob2 b16 converted to obd1
running a chipped p28

I swapped in the b16 into my car and took it for a spin and how she doesnt want to rev over 5500rpms
i have no CELs and i have changed out my dizzy for another one and its the same outcome. This is really getting on my nerves. any suggestions or has anyone else have this problem

Yeah, it might be a chip problem. Try another ECU.

i tried a stock p28 cause thats all i have and its the same problem. what is a stock p28 redline?

Also i took a VSS from a SOHC tranny and put in my gsr tranny if that makes a difference?

stock redline is 7200 i believe. it could be timing, bad oil sending unit or vtec oil sensor. though these may not limit your rev to 5500. vtec hits at 4800rpm. if your engine isnt getting the right oil pressure then the ecu may limit the power to prevent damage. check your wiring too. im just throwing ideas out so good luck.

actually the redline hits on a stock p28 at 7800, but it sounds to me like there is something going on with your wiring..

wiring?? ill start at the oil pressure sending unit. i guess all i can do is start replacing parts i guess.

are you sure you have your vtec wired into the right pins on the ecu plugs?
