Default Intercooler Question ? ?

I have a used intercooler that has been painted black. im just wondering if anyone knows of a way to get it back to the orignal finish, without messing anything up.

has anyone done this or heard of someone doing this, i dont really want the black sleeper look. ..

ideas>?

air craft stripper and use a garden hose. hi pressure wash can bend the fins. did it last summer on my brothers FMIC that he bought

agreed on the aircraft stripper, oven cleaner will work also.

if its spray paint, brake fluid will pull that **** right off.....less than 30secs

yup pretty sure its spray painted,

i just dont wanna mess up the fins or get crap stuck in there.

Since this is an intercooler topic...My IC fins are getting pretty bent. How do you know when they're so bent that you need a new IC? I made the mistake of drinking the car during spring before the road cleaners were out to pick-up all the gravel after winter. Just curious as to how much of the fins have to be bent before it has to be changed.

they make radiator fin combs that will straighten them back out...they only cost 10-15$...but it takes forever to do

Oh wow, that's awesome. I've got atleast 5 months before the car will be back together/be able to be drove, so i'm not worried about the time. I'll have to look around for one. Thanks for the help.

oven cleaner works pretty good to a certian point, doesnt get the **** outta the fins to good tho. . .
