Default gt28 vs gt30 compressor cover

I have a 2871r. (small one on the right)

I'm thinking about upgrading it to a 3076r. Now what I'm wondering is "if it will fit?" I just tried my buddies to4e 50 trim and there is NO WAY in hell this will fit. it seems the compressor is pushed more towards the tranny with the journal bearing center vs the GT center (compressor faces the passenger side with my setup) correct??

If you look at this photo (synapse's photo) comparing a 3076r vs a s256 it looks like if you mounted the turbo's the 3076's compressor would be closer to the mounting flange due to the bb center.

I have the .60 ar cover and I noticed the 3076r has the .60 cover as well, so does that mean the covers are the same size? Also does anyone know if the 2871 and 3076 differ much from width (compressor inlet to turbine out) Let me know if any of this makes sense hahaha

You can't use an S256 as a comparison of a GT30R for fitment. THe borg-warner cartridge and turbine housings are more on-center , than the tangiental ones that are used by most garretts. The GT3076R is a bit more like an inbetween of a T04e and T04S cover. You WILL have to notch the block more than likely.

I went out and took pics of my current issue. This is a to4e 50 trim, 63ar. Now let me know if you think a 3076r will "fit" better. I'm thinking the compressor will clear the block better with a smaller center
