Default 98 prelude auto transmission can't go into park

Anyone know why I can't shift this automatic transmission back into park? This is what happened. My girlfriend rearended a car and smash everything up to the radiator core support. I already removed the radiator core support and everything past that looks fine. The main fuse is blown and the alternator power cable broke off. Right now there is no power to the car. I don't see what would cause this to not be able to shift it back into park. Right now it's in neutral and I can shift it into all the drive gears smoothly like drive 1, 2, and 3 but just not into park. The only thing I can think of is the linkage but I haven't had time to check that yet. There doesn't seem to have been any shift to the motor and trans during the impact. It shifts fine into all the gears except park. There was actually more damage to the driver side cause the headlight was smashed in completly and the passenger side was still intact. Anyone know what the problem might be?
