What is this grommet in the firewall?

Default What is this grommet in the firewall?

I found this while trying to wire an amp, I don't know what it is (grommet, end cap, or just random plastic bit) i'll attach pictures and if anyone knows it would be great if u helped out

Well I was going to say it was for the OEM fogs, but that one is lower behind the TB.

Dunno which one that is

But do you think its an actual hole through the firewall, i'm afraid to just pop it out...

lol yes....dont be a puss.

pop out the grommet (be carefull you will be reusing it) and see what you see.

look into the car from the inside and see if you can see daylight.

if you can carefully feed the wire through to the underhood.
when you get it there...poke a hole in the previously removed grommet and feed the wire
through it.

replace the grommet. do the DIY happy dance.

ps remember to add a fuse within 18" of the battery.

Thanks, no more puss haha, I'll eventually post pix of the installation, i'm doing it on the 27th, just trying to get everything under control cuz its my first install of something like this. thanks again

LOL its all good. When I first started workin on my car I was hella puss.. so scared to mess one lil thing up. ha, but I think its just a cap to plug a unused hole. Which could be used for such things as wiring a amp to the car battery!!!

LOL its all good. When I first started workin on my car I was hella puss.. so scared to mess one lil thing up. ha, but I think its just a cap to plug a unused hole. Which could be used for such things as wiring a amp to the car battery!!!thanks guys, I just looked into it more, it turns out it leads into the back of something in the glove compartment....something i know i dont want to drill through....thank God I looked before drilling. Anyway, I found a much better place to just drill my own clean hole and like i said, i'm takin pix of the entire process anyway for a school report so i'll post them eventually....again, thanx for the help
