I put a really hefty wire in my car, so I didn't even try to run it under the panel. I did it the carpet way. And man, it worked friggin great. I can't even tell it's there. I ran it around the cracks and corners of the chassis so you can't even feel it if you tried to look for it.

My trick was to use a vacum hose. Since it's beefier and sturdier than the wire itself, I ran that under the carpet, then ran the wire through it. After I found the wire coming out of the other end, I pulled the hose out and blam ... the wire's under the carpet.

Don't forget to put a fuse between the positive wire and the battery! If the wire ever gets cut by your chassis and causes a short, it will cause a fire. Putting a fuse inbetween these connections will prevent these mishaps from happening. It is also a good idea to wrap suspect areas of the wire with thick tape just so it doesn't happen in the the first place.

Good luck with your installation!

I took off my middle consul and ran it under the carpet and under the back seat all the way to the trunk. It took time but i don't like exposed wires.

I ran my power cable from the battery straight into the fender (drilled a hole). From there I ran it down the fender, and on top of the frame rail all the way to the back of the car. I then drilled hole in the trunk pan and ran the cable in there with a gromet installed of course. The entire length of the wire has wire loom around it because it is subjected to the elements. I did this install 3 years ago and no problems. You might think it was a lot of extra work then necessary. The wire was 0/1 gauge, which would not fit through the interior panels nor under the carpet without bulging.

I am pretty sure a 1/0 will fit down the pass side of the car. But you work intesive way works to. I'm just not a big fan out running it outside the cabin.

I ran my RCA's below the center console, but there isn't enough room for a power wire, plus you want to run them separate. When I ran my power wire down the sill, I took it off. I am pretty sure there was plenty of room. I have a 4ga and it moves freely if I pull on it, if that matters anthing to you.
