chip or new ecu... what should i do?
i have a 98 civic dx with a few internal mods and of course the basic bolt ons, and i want to know what i should do about my ecu. should i go with a jet chip or a new computer, i am not trying to spend a lot of money on this and i cannot afford a hondata ecu or the aem plug and play.
does anyone know a good chip or ecu that will take out the speed limiter or at least raise the limit. my car tops out at 120mph
any help would be appreciated.
thanks

these are the options I can think of
1)get an aftermarket chip, most will disable your rev/speed limiter
2)go to a dyno place...they might have the software to reprogram your ecu
3)disconnect your vehicle speed sensor (not legal, but it should work)

1) he has ODB2, no chips for it unless your from MUGEN or SPOON
2) dyno place, refer to #1
3) no VSS = no speedo...so unless he knows he rpms at speed...that might get him in some trouble
just get a odb2>1 harness and a chip a P06...

p06 (92-95 civic dx/ls & del sol S)
1. zc program
2. dx/lx program
- for modified engines
3. ls program
- 8500 rev limit

p06 ecu is 92-5 DX 1.5l ecu, you can use it with a harness converter
as far as a program I offer one. but it does tend to run richer the normal (one of the gude variants) - i also have the ecu for sale... = chipped P06 ecu running stock + gude program = $115US shipped
for harness converter, talk to Jason, for $170 you can get one

so all in all you can have a setup for under $300 with a harness converter, which will be less restrictive then your ecu , no speed limiter and 8500rpm rev limit.
