please help E-brake doesnt work

** please help ** E-brake doesnt work

My e-brake works very very little when i pull it. i tryed tightening it but all that did was make it so i couldnt pull it up as much. if anyone knows how to fix this or what the problem is please help.

jack up the rear, start the car, pump the brakes, THEN tighten the adj nut

pump the brakes alot? or just a few times

my EX did the same thing.
i just went to autozone, bought a drum brake calibrator, calibrated my drum pads right so it can be flush with the drum and it worked fine.
