Default 08 Si clutch pedal effort and transmission too soft?

Whats up guys. First let me say I own an 89 hatch(drag) and a 00' S2k. My gf owns an 08 Si with 10k miles and every time she drives my S2k, she won't stop complaining about how "baby" her Si clutch and transmission feels. I would definitely have to agree with her. It literally takes no effort to press the clutch pedal and shifting feels like there's nothing in the transmission case, lol. Sounds funny but I've never felt something that is supposed to be a sports car, feel so much like butter...I haven't seen any old people driving Si's so what's the deal? Would adding a stainless braided clutch line help "stiffen" or improve the feel on the clutch pedal? Or, and I doubt this, but can it be adjusted to feel firmer?

I can tell you that the clutch on my 07 Si was almost too stiff. On the 08 it is much smoother. A sports car should have a smooth clutch and transmission, you're not driving a big rig.

But if you want a smooth transmission, test drive an E92 M3. There's nothing like a german transmission.

lol, "big rig"...I understand that it should be smooth and I don't want it to feel like my 5 speed F150, lol. But its just so effortless...I love the way my s2k feels...clutch pedal is firm and transmission feels like it can take some abuse...So, what is yall's opinion on changing over to a braided clutch line? Any one here have one or experience with one?

Really? Hmm...so there's no options to changing how firm or soft the clutch pedal is on these cars? Besides doing a full clutch swap?

if you want a really stiff clutch buy an 05 corolla xrs.

for shifting you need an SS, shift cable bushing, and a heavier ****. with that set up the shifting is like an s2k

Hmm...cool. I'll start looking into those. She does love how the S feels, lol. Now onto her next issue, power! But i'll save that for another thread.

Anyone else's opinions will be appreciated as well. Thanks Zeusone

So is there anything I can do about the no pressure clutch pedal? Any other 08's out there with this as an issue?

I have an 06 FG2 with 50K and my clutch pedal is stiff as hell and the gears are not smooth either. My pops has an 08 FA5 and his clutch is easy as well and the shifting. But he only has 14K on his and mine is 50K. When mine was new it was smooth and easy as well. So I'm not sure. Does the stiffness mean its wearing out, or has a problem. Or does this just happen over time with all cars?

Thanks

i have a 06 si and ive done the following mods for shifting...

twm base bushings
twm cable bushings
twm short shifter
CTR **** with no jam nut
and ALEX shift change springs.

let me tell you...if you have driven an s2000 and think thats a nice feel....you gotta feel this setup it is amazing how different from stock it is and it feels way better tan an S2K imho.
