Default How do you remove the coolant temp sensor? 96 EX...remove the distributor?

Im trying to replace my coolant temp sensor. This is on a 96 EX 2.2

If i believe to be correct the sensor is underneth the distributor. It seems to be quite under there and I cannot get a 19mm socket there.

Do i need to remove the distributor to get the Coolant temp sensor out? or is there another way to get to it?

and if so how to you remove the distributor?

As a novice, you would want to remove the distributor cap so you can make note of the direction the rotor is pointing. Make a scratch mark on the dizzy aluminum where it touched the head, mark from the dizzy to the head also. On reassembly you will turn the rotor and wiggle it while pushing the dizzy back into its hole, then realign the scratch marks to set the timing back exactly where it was.

Also if you decide to remove the dizzy then you should get a new o ring for it from you local discount parts store.
