foglight installation on a 98 civic.
I'm wondering if anyone has or knows how to install foglights on a 98 civic front bumper?
Foglights that would fit into and replace the vents on a 99 or 00 model.
Does one just cut extra carefully? Or is this just not done at all?

its not that hard. you take the bumper off the on the side of the lower grill on the left and right side. cut carefully where it's mark. If i came of no service for your question someone else will pick up after me.
The foglights that fit in the fake brake ducts on '99-'00 models won't fit on '96-'98 models normally. There have been a few people who have made it work, but it doesn't look very good at all and I imagine the light pattern is all kinds of stupid.

Maybe its that there are so many knockoff/garbage looking fogs I'm trying to get away from it.
I personally like the 99-00 ones also but i would do the whole front end, not a mickey mouse job. Or get the DEPO square ones. They are BOMB. I have them in my car and they look sick. I can maybe take a pic but i dont know how to post them in this new HT forum.
Get some DEPO fogz...they are good enough and are not wack like the ebay knock off ones. The DEPO ones run about 75 bux.

Esuse are the brand that are closest to OEM, but they're a bit more difficult to find for sale.
I've had DEPO, Esuse and OE (all clear squares on my '98) and the only one I would 100% never buy again would be the DEPO brand ones.
Oh, and here is what '99-'00 foglights look like on a '96-'98.

Wow, that looks, uhh, special.
They aren't strictly JDM, you could get them in north america as well, there were square and round versions available, although I think i've only ever seen the round version in a '96 civic sales brochure.

The clear round ones were the only ones available in the US.
Here are other photos of the car I just posted. 1996-1998 with 1999-2000 fog lights.

Personally, I don't think that looks half bad. Maybe its just the clean car...?
But they are definitely spread way out.
Thanks for posting the pictures NOFX, it helped me get a good idea of what it could look like.

I wasn't aware we only got the round versions, good info as always.
Thats pretty far removed from NOFX's car, I'd say the similarities end after the part where they're both 6th gen civics.

I don't know where you're from, but Honda does not list square or yellow fog lights in the US.
Those would be aftermarket lights.
When we read "we get the square ones", we thought you mean we got them as optionla parts from Honda, which we did not.
