Default Autopage Alarm Help

I just got an Alarm for my 98 Sedan. One of its features is an ignition autolock. So everytime I start the engine it locks the door, and everytime I turn it off, it unlocks. Could I unlock the car while its on. Because I think its pointless, what if I have to drop off 3 people. Do I have to turn it off 3 times? Its a manual.

THANKS FOR THE HELP.

The feature is for preventing getting car-jacked (i.e. having a guy come up to and open your door while you are inside). You would probably get better help in the audio/security section, but since you posted here I will try and help. If you go to www.the12volt.com they have a variety of alarm installation manuals that you can download. Check it out and see if they have your model's instructions.

Yea, in the morning to warm up my car i leave the door open and start it. after i hear the locks try to engage i close the door and it stays unlocked. Also when I am driving if I unlock the door once to let someone out the doors will stay unlocked until I either shut the car off and start it again or lock it with the switch.

I think he means he just unlocks it after the initial automatic lock. Although it is a semi-annoyance, I would honestly just get used to it. I think the possibility of another person opening your door while you are stopped outweighs the inconvenience of pressing the unlock button whenever you happen to want the doors unlocked while the engine is running.

edit: I guess that wasn't what he meant, but it is still a way of doing it.

Actually, that was exactly what I was trying to say lol. The autopage system only locks once when you turn the car on, and doesn't lock it again after that.
