Default exhaust questions

hey i have a 1998 coupe and when i bought the car it came with a Hayame Exhaust witch ive never heard of before so i looked it up and the price on them isnt the cheapest but this exhaust is horribly loud at all rps so i jacked the car up to look for leaks or ne possible solution to why its so loud i did find one leak but i also found that the resinator was cut and a new pipe was welded in place it still has the cat and its all 2.5 inch pipe and if it makes any difference i have dc sports 4 to 1 headers. my questions are can a muffler shop weld on a new resinator and have one to weld on and how else besides buying a new muffler can i make it quieter

A resonator will quiet the exhaust down quite a bit. Yes, an exhaust shop will weld one on to your piping. People typically go about 18 inch on our cars.

Also, if you ever do replace the muffler itself, it makes a world of difference. It's the loudest/quietest part. :p

ok i just dident know if a run of the mill muffler shop would have a resinator laying around that would 1 fit 2.5 inch pipe and 2 be for a performance exhaust
