big tires and bad gas milage?
I just swapped in an LS in my 95 sedan. Obviously, gas milage sucks compared to the d series. Would my car be more fuel efficient if i put my steelies back on? I know it would but will it actually be noticable? I mean, i can drive down the street shifting up at 2500 the whole time and by the time i get back my needles gone down a lot. I put a brank new fuel filter in and brank new spark plugs and wires. Is there anything else i can do? new fuel pump maybe?
Record your mileage the right way instead of just looking at the needle. Fill it up then reset your trip meter and drive around for a few days. Fill it up again taking note of how many gallons you are putting in. Divide the miles traveled by the gallons. For the most accurate reading, do this several times and take an average. But to answer the question. Larger wheels will have an effect due to weight. Or if they are bigger than the OEM tire diameter definitely wil have an effect. You never said what size and width you current wheels are.
