Im looking for a low, deep tone type of exhuast that wont be very very loud at crusing and at WOT.


I want to know if there is anything like that, or do I have to use a 3" resonator?

i have 3" piping rite after the downpipe(no cat) mated to an n1 muffler. I like it, it gives a deep tone.

btw..i dont have a resonator either.

 

Magnaflow mufflers sound pretty good too. I've got one on my Si. It has a nice deep tone to it but its not as loud as all the ricers.

 

the most important for me is loudness.... I DO NOT WANT IT LOUD AT ALL

even If I floor it by a cop, I really dont want him turnning his head to hear me before he can see me.

 

Wasn't Arospeed offering some lame "Exhaust Control Valve" thingy? Basically it looks like a throttle body for your exhaust, to manually control the air flow.

Despite the fact that everything Arospeed makes is cheesy, its actually a kinda good idea. I heard of someone in my area using a throttle body off of a mustang or soemthing and modifying it to work as this ECV thing.

at any rate, its a good idea.... isnt it?

 

I would also say magnaflow. I have one along with a carsound cat and it is quite.

 

I have this setup as well and at first I thought it was loud, but compared to other exhausts out there, it's pretty quiet.

 

The whole point of doing the upgrade is to have a 3 inch system.
the resonator wont be a bottle neck but it will be a resitriction.
How bad a resonators to an exhuast?

 

just run 2 magnaflows and you'll be fine.

 

2 magnalfows what?

 

mufflers. 1 for a resonator and 1 for a muffler. people with only 1 magnaflow say its quieter than other exhausts, so 2 magnaflow = quieter. check the link in my sig for more info.
