you can use a chipped P28, or an obd1 P72 with the conversion harness. You dont need to run a chipped P72 to properly run that motor, assuming its n/a.

Yes you should be fine using that ecu. It really shouldnt make a difference...And about the throttle cable. I belive that the stock civic one would be too short...your just going to have to put it in and see. Maby you can rig up a braket to make it work or something..

just dont use a stock p28, either run P72 or a chipped P28 with a P72 program, and watch those chipped p28s on ebay some run your motor richer than bill gates

dont forget about the secondary butterflies... you would need a p72 to properly run them.

oh then you can use either ecu. just make sure the chip has a p72 map or get it tuned.

to your other question: I didnt have to swap throttle cables when i did the same swap. it put a very slight kink in the cable, but didnt cause it to stick or anything. since you have a skunk2 manifold, i believe it has the mouting bolts for a b16 throttle cable bracket?
