Just had a a/t to m/t swap done a month ago and after it was done, the starter makes a loud, high weezing sound when I start the car. The car starts and everything seems to be working, but it sounds horrible and I believe it's bad for the flywheel.. I honestly don't have the knowledge to figure it out, but my friend said it may have to do with a shim of somesort?

Any input?

It's a d15b7 with a d16y8 transmission. the starter is from a 96-00 dseries. thanks!

 

sure its not a belt?

 

Might be your alternator/serpentine belt. Check it out. Make sure you know where the noise is coming from.

when you find out its a belt then tighten it :D
