Default at what price ?????

ok heres the deal. i just got married and now its time to buy a house. my new wife is suggesting that since i have a company vehichle that i should sell my baby (99 hatch) and use that money as a partial downpayment. ill list the specs and u guys can suggest a price that i should ask for it. oh yea, she says that after we get the house and furnish it that i can get the car of my dreams (NSX). so to me its a win/win situation. its really an unfinished project for me.

SPECS:::
99 hatch (never been wrecked)
wheels (jdm enkie J-SPEED3)
motor (95 gsr)
exhaust (greddy SP-2)
cold air intake (aem custom & K&N filter)
clutch (ACT stage 3, 6 puck)
flywheel (ACT lightened)
valvetrain (skunk2 pro valves (intake), springs and retainers, ferrera valves (exhaust)
3 angle valve job
LSD
AEM trutime cam gears
block is bored .20 over
eagle crank, SRP pistons, eagle H-Beam rods and ACL bearings
ingals engine dampner

hopefully u guys can give me a good price and not just alot of slack . sorry this is so long and once again, thanks for the help. THANKS ALOT

LOL X 1 million. I should know....im married.FTL.

about her saying "Sell your car for now and then ill let you buy the car of your dreams"
thats "BULL". Its all a vicious LIE. Then youll have kids and will have to worry about them and not waste $ on cars blah....blah...blah. When you already have a great car and shouldnt try to replace later down the road. Tell her to sell her car.

i dont understand how selling a hatch will help you get a house and buy an nsx. if you have money to buy a nsx then why are you thinking about selling a $5000-$6000 hatch for a downpayment on a house.

Like i said..........

SCREW HER!

Ask me how many times my wife has told me to sell my civics (even though in the end the got totalled while parked, and then hear the nagging part.. i told you so.. should of sold them.). They dont appreciate cars as much as we do. She wants out of apartment then tell her to sell her car and travel on the bus. And if its not a rush then dont sell and save some dough to move out later. DAMM. Whats the point of having just a NSX? I would keep my civic as my DD beater and then cruise around on the NSX on the weekends. I wouldnt want to put miles on a car like that. As far as using for a DD.

Sucker... are you still going to want an old p.o.s. 25 years from now?, when the house is paid off. but seriously you probably have a **** load into the car. You probably won't get anymore then 6000, so i doubt you would even have enough for the down payment. your best bet would so see a financial advisor to see how much money you need for a down payment for x amount of dollars. with the way the market is i'd wait and see how cheap you can really get a house for. another thing that makes a huge difference is how long have you been at your job? and past credit? if you have had any slip-ups it will show you know the one time you forgot to pay your credit card etc... I had been working at my current job for over 6 months, had all my "slip-ups" taking care of (paid off) for 3-4 months, I wanted a newer truck (25,000) i make over a 100k a year. The bank basically laughed at me and said no. It took a 5000 dollar down payment to get my truck.

I wish you good luck with whatever decision you make.

ok this is for all the posters out there that are not reading everything already posted. first off i have another vehichle. its my company truck. and second, i have money saved up and am using the car to top off what i have already been saving. i have a 680 credit score been working at my profession for over 10 yrs and make on the lower end of 6 figures. i sell the car now and get the house. take 6 - 9 months to furnish it. then buy the NSX. my wife is a Veterinarian so i dont think buying a house, furnishing it and ultimately getting what i want will b a problem.
and i was thinking more along the lines of around 8 - 9k for the car. i could remove the engine and sell it seperatly for at least 4500 then put an original motor in the car and sell it for around 5500 and then sell the enkei wheels by themselves and get alittle more money....or is this line of thinking wrong

so a built head and fully built bottom end and fully built trans complete with new axles and everything else needed for a swap wont go for 4500
i think that when a decent motor (just motor) goes for 2500 my motor should go for 4500 plus i have all reciepts, the bottom end work was done about 2000 miles ago
