Default fouled plugs?

turbo d16 on a fairly rich tune. cars gone about 2-3k since tune and now it wont fire up, starts for 2 seconds then shuts off.

could the rich tune cause the ngk bkr7e's to foul out this early and let the car not stay running? running 92 octane in the car, i hear that wears them out a little faster than 87 as well.

has anyone heard of plugs causing a car to start for a few seconds then shut off? oh, and its minnesota so its f-ing cold as well, but she started when it was cold b4 then one day after a night of driving just perfectly i tried to start it and it wouldnt go.

please tell me its as easy as plugs lol

so i pulled the plugs damn its cold out! 17 and windy with 4 inches of snow covering my car lol.

plugs are all black as night, and 3 of 4's threads are wet. plugs look like i would assume, since the motor is running rich... but why wet around the threads?

the plugs might be wet because of oil getting to them. i had the same problem with my DA9. oil was getting onto the spark plugs because the spark plug seals were bad. got a new valve cover and seals, repaired the threads on the cover studs, tightened it down and it fixed it.

You should be changing plugs about every 2-3k miles anyway. I replace mine whenever i change the oil. They're cheap so why not...

but would the plugs cause the car to not stay idling and die within 3 seconds of initial start up?

If they're badly fouled anything is possible. I was having idling problems with mine last summer, i took them out (after 1k miles) and they were nasty dark. After putting new ones in, it ran like a champ
