Yes.

All taillights from 96-00 Are interchangeable except Sedans. Coupe = Coupe and Hatchback = Hatchback.

Good Luck.

Turn signal bulbs (and outer wire harnesses) are different though. In order to be legal, the '99-'00 lights will need amber turn signals.

It helps if you use the harness from the '99-'00.

I didn't say you needed the harness. It's helpful though. Those lights are easier to find than an amber 7440. Those are usually special order bulbs. Finding other bulbs to fit can work, but is not ideal.

The ideal way to do it, if you want the other taillights, is to swap in the correct harness too.

I do things the right way. I do not like short cuts and there really is no reason to shortcut on this. It's a common harness.

harness costs money. Down here all the advance auto's sell amber 7440's so there is no reason to get the harness

Advance Auto Parts is largely an east coast and midwest chain. It's not in most of the US.

The harnesses often come with the taillights, which I assume most would be smart enough to buy used anyway. The cost difference between lights that do and do not come with harnesses is very low, if there at all.

I'm not talking about a body harness. I'm talking about the tiny harnesses that you plug the bulbs into. They're not even that expensive new from Honda.
