Ok I'm picking up a GSR tranny for my LS B18b and was wondering what's the average cost for someone to install this gsr tranny and take my ls tranny out.

Don't mean to hijack this thread... But, would you guys say the DIY is more or less difficult than a cam shaft swap? Reason I ask is because, I have done the cam swap myself. I just didn't know if I should try to tackle the tranny swap. (clutch change actually) Thanks.

its harder than doing cams, but its all self explanatory... the parts that suck are

lifting the heavy **** off the ground
and lining up the splines

its not too bad tho, it helps if you have one or two buddies with you helping just because its so big and heavy

i just used a couple floor jacks and my buddies spare hands to get it back on so even still its not that bad
it took me (first time) and my buddy ( 3rd time) about 4.5 hours, thats simply because it was cinco de mayo
in texas it dosent matter what color your skin is on cinco de mayo, YOU DRINK!!

the best way to figure it out is get a good manual, and go to town!!

Should be less than $300. It takes less than 2 hours, maybe 3-4 your first time.
Last time I paid for a clutch change, it was $250 with flywheel resurfacing.
