Icon2 Rims VS tyres...

hi

just bought me a set of Weld racing 15in x 10in, planning on mounting them on my toyota starlet FWD with a 2,0l 850bhp engine and semi hot rod chassis

gear ratio :

1st : 3,214
2nd : 2,045
3rd : 1,333
4th : 0,972
final : 3,944

just vondering if the M/H 10.0/26.0-15 would do the job or ......!!!???

you need to take your gear ratio's plug them into a gear calculator, and then compare the rpm limit and the rpm drop between gears to your dyno chart and see where you fall.

here it is. im not sure how high you rev your engine up, but here is what i found. (you dont have enough power to go 191mph) get a differant final. such as 4.4 or something and go from there.

here is 3.9 final

here is 4.4 final

here is what the calculator came up with. Both of these are with your new 4.3 final and 3.230 1st gear. one is on 24.5 inch tires, the other is on 26 inch tires. i think you would be more suited to using the 24.5inch tire.

24.5 inch tires / 9500 rev limit

can you try a 4.4 final drive ?

with the ratio's up above, 4.4 final, 4 speed trans, 9500 limit, on 26's, that should be good for about 171.8 mph

the reason that im asking for a good gear setup is that , we have found a company that can make gear / dog box for us , so got the oppertunity to choose the right gear ratio....but if you think that my setup now but with a 4,4 final is good then it works fine with me

You will need your torque curve(which would be a catch 22 because your probably going to dyno with tranny in... lol), But perhaps this spreadsheet i attached can help. I wrote it for myself, but if you can work it, work it. ghetto Rel notes
