Default Problems with 2000 civic ex NEED HELP?

1st problem is when I shift into 3 or 4. It would make these horrible griding sound? What is the problem? How much and what I need to do to fix it?

2nd problem when turn right it would make these metal clanking sound. Some one told me it was the axel boot being old or something like that. It was fine to drive but it just make that horrible sound when I turn. ??? Is this correct.

Please help me ... Thanks in advance. I really appreciate it.

shifting problmes could be a number of things, the noise when you turn is more than likely a cv joint problem which means you should replace the axle.

I have the same problem. Some people told me it was in my tranny, but the noise comes from the shifter area, not a make-you-cringe grinding noise from the tranny.

About going into reverse, try holding in the clutch for just a little bit longer (not long, just like a second or two) before you move the shifter to reverse.

transmission synchronizers for those gears and or blocker rings aren't any good..ultimately the tranny is gonna need replacement or overhauling..

the clicking noise that sounds like u ran over a midget and his/her arm is stuck in your tire as you are turning is as previously stated is the drive axle....

considering you have to remove the axles when removing the tranny, it probably be wouldn't be a bad idea to replace them while you have it out...

not necessarily a cv...i dont know about about the grind from third to fourth but i had the same problem with my car when turning right. It was as if it was making this horrible rattling noise like metal on metal. come to find out it was the driver side side mount. The rubber in between the top and bottom piece was shot and when you turn right it causes the weight of the motor to be shifted to that side and putting more force on that mount. therefor causing the rattle
