Oil leak from cv shaft?????
Yes it will. They will click when they go in. Tug on the joint itself, not the axle, and make sure it doesn't slide back. Otherwise you've distorted the seal on the transaxle, replace it.
did you change your axles or pull your motor recently? I'm asking to figure out why you'd just start getting an oil leak. Also what transmission are you running? Si, Dx or have you swapped to a b series? I have an Si tranny and I found out the hard way that the seals on the Si are different compared to the Dx. The inner diameter is larger on the Si than the Dx because the inner end of the axle joints have different sealing surfaces. I bought Si seals for my Si tranny and had a huge oil leak because I have Dx axles!! Shitty way to find that out, but just throwing it out there to hopefully save some head aches.
i just put the motor in the car like not even a week ago and i have had a oil leak since and i kno its not the motor cuz the oil thats in the motor is so clear u cant see it on the dip stick but the oil that i have been leaking is like jet black so im like wtf were is this oil coming from so i looked at the cv shafts and i could see a gap between the trans and the shafts. its not a si trans! me and my friend tryed to get the shaft farther in for about an hour and and it still would not go in any further then it was before so the gap wont go away!!
Pull the axle out. You may have damaged the snap ring on the shaft. If the snap ring is damaged it wont go in all the way.
Pull the axle out.
Inspect the snap ring.
Replace if necessary.
Reinstall the axle.
Ensure good fit.
Drain trans fluid. It shouldn't be black.
Refill using MTF.
