i have 1993 civic w/ b16 swap. power options i have are. power windows, stereo, foglights, rear fog light, bumper pole, side markers and regular front headlights and tail lights. when i start the car its fine. but when i start using stereo, power windows all the rest the car seems to shake and the whole car vibrates harder than usual esp when im stopped at a stop light or something. what could be the problem? battery? alternator? loose connections? better grounds? small wires? not sure what it could be, any suggestions would help thanks!

 

how long has it been since you've done a tune up? i'd start there then get the charging system, checked a shop has a tool that will diagonse the system and give you the actual amps of what the alternator puts out etc.

The idle may be too low. It needs to be adjusted from time to time.

Here:

1.) Turn on car and let it warm up. Turn off all accessories.
2.) Unplug IAC. The idle will drop.
3.) Adjust idle screw on throttle body. It's a large flat head screw on the front of the throttle body.
4.) Adjust idle to manufacturer's spec. It should be on the inside of your hood. If you don't have the original hood, IIRC, it's around 600-800RPM for manual motors.
5.) Replug in IAC.
6.) Turn car off.
7.) Turn car on. Check idle with accesories. Rev it a couple of times and see if the idle stays.
8.) If idle is good, you're done. If not, then repeat steps 2-7.

 

You can also clean the throttle body and IAC with sensor safe throttle body cleaner. Don't use brake cleaner.

 

750 +/- 50 rpm is idle spec for the car.

The idle should be just below 500 with the IAC valve unplugged and engine warm, not at spec.
