ok i posted something a couple of days ago about ym compression being bad or at least that is what acura told me 120 across the board i know that is horriable but on sat. i am going to get it dynoed to really find out i think it is 163 or so to the wheels and i raced my friend with a white R and he killed me pulled on me in every gear and threw the whole rpm band. he said that it has been known that some people buy R's and replace the internals with gsr parts. i bought it 10 months ago with 4600 miles on it i now have 14,457 on it. i am just wondering if there is a way i can find out if it is real or what might be wrong i mean it drives fine but it just doesnt have the power that it used to.

that is super low compression, even with GSR pistons. Sounds to me like you need to have a leak down test and see if you can diagnose the problem without ripping off the head.

ok how much do you think that will cost i mean i had the compression test done at acura and they let me leave and told me everything was o with my car at 120 compression so i dont know if i should go back there!!!!!!!!

 

Go to a different dealer and demand that they fix the problem. That is what the warranty is for. Explain that the car feels down on power and that it is turning in lower than acceptable compression numbers. There has to be another dealer...

Sounds like someone may have run it out of oil on occassion.
My 97 ITR w/~ 108K miles at the time had compression numbers in the 215-220 range. FWIW

 

That motor has probably seen abuse with forced induction.

 

Just curious, how's the oil consumption on that motor?

oil consumption is better tha normal i see people on here saying there R eats 1 qt. every 1000 miles or so i dont if anything when i am going to change my oil(which i do every 2500 miles on the dot) i may have lost 1/2 or qt or so.
