Default Another TICKET!

VC 24400:

The cop gave me a ticket for modded suspension and said the headlights have to be at least 22 inch off the ground. What BS!!! Corvettes and other, I'm sure their headlights are lower from the ground. He measured mine at 21 inches.

i really doubt my old vette had lights higher than a dropped teg. modified suspension is a new one to me. i knew cali had a bunch of anti street racer laws but that suspension one is a bit much.

That's a strange law, Here in NZ you just have to have the lowest structural point of the car above 100mm Or you need to get a cert then you can have any high with in reason.

Did he tell you they had to be 22inch before or after he measured it. If he said it after then he could of just been making up a number higher then what yours were just so he could ticket you.

I though it's 21 inch, not 22 inch and yes there is a such a law in california that our headlight can't lower than certain height. but I forgot it's 21 inch or 22 inch.

The law says 22 inches but I wonder how the vettes porches 911 and others that I'm sure headlights are lower then 22 inches from the ground get away with that.

Im barely dropped and i'm at 21 inches aswell cali laws are dumb. but theres another law stating about the chassis and the wheels on where they meet when lowered, i just forgot what it really was. I had a acura cl slam tucking wheels just 18 inches to the middle of the headlights and i never got a ticket on it, and i had no exhaust and had a test pipe on it. Just the most common import cars that are consider tuner cars are the ones getting pulled over and getting tickets for the most stupid laws they have.

I got a ticket once for modified exhaust, my car was shut off and parked.

I believe anything that happens here, this state is so twisted.

I've never heard of hot rodders being abused like this unless they are doing something stupid.

What were you doing that prompted him to pull you over? A cop will not pull you over just based on the height of your car.

BTW: Don't you cali guys ever learn?

He pulled me over for exactly that. Lowered suspension, nothing else. I wasn't doing anything stupid, just driving along normal.

I've been driving a lowered car for over 10 years and this is the first time ever for modded suspension.

Yo.. My man.. You're not alone in this world.. I live in socal and I deal with funky-acting cops all the time, and I'm sick of them.. Here are several BS tickets or reasons why I got pulled over.. All real, no joke.. Get ready to laugh:

1) not stopping behind imaginary line
2) probable cause (3 times)
3)doing 30 on a 25
4) my sidemarker wasn't blinking when turning (US dc's don't come with sidemarkers)
5) modified exhaust ( it had a hole on the end of piping)
6) doing 80 on a 75

Hopefully I don't break the good luck I been receiving lately.. I haven't been pulled over in 3 months.. Seems like I broke a record.. Lol

1. what kind of imaginary line?
2. What was the probable cause reason?
3. Speeding most likely in a resedential neighborhood
4. You added safety lights to your car that didn't work. How is a cop supposed to know they didn't come on your car?
5. I have nothing without a picture.
6. Speeding again.
